# Orbis Operations > Orbis Operations delivers a governed data fabric for defense, intelligence, > and national security. We strengthen the security and decision advantage of > the United States Government and its allies by delivering sovereign > intelligence and decision capabilities that accelerate decision cycles, > strengthen resilience, and preserve sovereign control in an increasingly > contested world. Founded 2008. Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, with three offices: Washington, DC; Canberra, Australia; and Taipei, Taiwan. Not a consulting firm and not a systems integrator. Every engagement is staffed by practitioners who have operated at the mission edge. Customers are the U.S. Government, allied nations, and critical enterprises. Tagline: Solutions Forged from Experience. The problem we solve: data is the most valuable asset most organizations already own, and it does not move. Eight root causes keep it trapped, and only one of them is technical: fear, cost, legacy technology, governance gaps, classification, organizational boundaries, complexity, and inertia. The answer: a governed data fabric where governance and data flow are one capability, built together, rather than two separate projects. Data flows up, down, and back into existing tools, governed, enriched, and working. Orbis deploys where the data already is, whether cloud-native, twenty-year-old on-premises, or disconnected tactical edge. No modernization required first. ## Products Each product stands alone and is independently valuable. There is no forced bundle. Together they form one governed data fabric. - [Catalyst](https://orbisops.com/catalyst): A transport-agnostic, declarative data-movement and transformation platform. Describe your pipeline in YAML, deploy it live to any node in your fleet, and Catalyst moves the data durably, observably, and under policy. The runtime unit is a single Go binary with no external dependencies. Nodes dial outward to the fleet manager, so no node exposes an inbound control port. Air-gap-native, built for the contested edge rather than retrofitted to it. - [Pulse](https://orbisops.com/pulse): A multi-source data collection platform. Clients submit collection requests over HTTP, Pulse dispatches them to distributed workers, tracks status, and delivers results to the caller's configured destination. Deploys to commercial cloud or to IL5-hardened infrastructure for on-premises, air-gapped, and DoD IL5 and IL6 customers. - [Discovery](https://orbisops.com/discovery): A single secure workspace where analysts research a question, collect and analyze what they find, and write it up, without revealing who is doing the looking. Four task types: General Search, Translation, Person Search, Social Media Collection. Secure browsing routes every source link through remote browser isolation. ## Key pages - [Why your data doesn't move](https://orbisops.com/faq): The eight root causes of trapped data, explained one by one. The best starting point for understanding what Orbis solves and why it is mostly not a technology problem. - [Use cases](https://orbisops.com/use-cases): Cross-domain solutions, OSINT at operational speed, sovereign AI, and coalition data sharing in practice. - [Security](https://orbisops.com/security): Products are not individually certified. Discovery runs on infrastructure holding ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and 27018, SOC 2 Type II, and FedRAMP Moderate, and customers inherit that posture. Data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS. Customer data is never used to train AI models. - [Services](https://orbisops.com/services): Architecture, integration, training, advisory, and managed services delivered by practitioners. - [Resources](https://orbisops.com/resources): Capability briefs, product overviews, and technical whitepapers. - [Leadership](https://orbisops.com/leadership) and [About](https://orbisops.com/about): Who we are and how we work. - [Careers](https://orbisops.com/careers): Open roles. - [Contact](https://orbisops.com/contact): Request a briefing. - [Accessibility](https://orbisops.com/accessibility): Accessibility statement and how to report an issue. ## Terminology - Governed data fabric: the Orbis architecture. Governance and data flow unified in a single bidirectional system. Preferred over "platform". - CODL, the Common Operational Data Layer: the standard for routing the right data to the right operators across nodes, domains, and partners. Catalyst is the CODL. This is a technical term, not the name of the whole portfolio. - Asymmetric advantage: the outcome Orbis delivers. The data you already have, working for you. - Decision speed, mission tempo: how fast an organization moves from data to decision. ## Notes - Orbis serves the U.S. Government, allied nations, and critical enterprises. - Every engagement is staffed by practitioners who have operated at the mission edge. - Legal entities: Orbis Operations LLC, Orbis Federal Solutions LLC, Orbis Worldwide LLC, Orbis Operations Pty Ltd. - Contact: impact@orbisops.com
